Making a splash at school swimming championships

London Primary Schools Swimming Championships
On Tuesday 16 May, 14 Year 5 and 6 pupils travelled to Latymer Upper School to race in the London Primary Schools Swimming Championships.
CJS was represented fantastically at this high level, and the team raced tough with some tight finishes. All swimmers in the swimming squad should be very proud of their performances and hard work this year.
The squad achieved several top-10 placings:
- Jessica: 5th in 100m individual medley; 4th in 50m breaststroke.
- Ashley-Jane: 7th in 100m individual medley; 6th in 50m butterfly.
- Victoria: 5th in 50m backstroke; 8th in 50m freestyle.
- Ela: 7th in 50m backstroke.
English Schools Relay Championships
On Wednesday 10 May, four Year 6 students competed in the first round of the English Schools Relay Championships at JAGS school.
Jessica, Ashley-Jane, Victoria and Maria qualified in first place for National Finals in Sheffield in the freestyle relay, and finished in 4th place as first reserves for the medley relay. We wish them the very best of luck at Nationals!

Hannah Gold (author) has written three books, The Lost Whale, The Last Bear and Finding Bear (which came out yesterday!). On Wednesday, she came to visit us! Everyone was very excited, we couldn’t wait to meet her and get our books signed! It started off with Hannah telling us about the book, where it was set, who were the characters and a run through of the plot. Fortunately, she didn’t tell us everything, like will they solve the problems or not because we can find out when we read it! After that, Hannah picked two volunteers (one to be April,…

Year 3 have been exploring the city from the water and sky, as part of their humanities topic on London.
Year 3 have been exploring the city from the water and sky, as part of their humanities topic on London.
The children enjoyed a river cruise before hopping on board the London Eye. They enjoyed learning more about the many landmarks in the city. Aahaan said: "I loved it when I was at the top of the London Eye and I could see the hospital where I was born." Claudia added: "When we were at the top of the London Eye it was a little bit scary but really fun!"
