The Summer Art Exhibition with our Artist in Residence

The CJS Summer Term Art exhibition, led by Ms Ranguelove and Mrs Latimer, has proven to be a highlight of the school’s Summer term calendar.

The exhibition has been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the work the children have done in their Art workshops with Ms Ranguelove, our Artist in Residence, as well as the artist's own work she has created in response to her time at the school.

It has prompted many discussions inside and outside the classroom amongst our pupils and staff, thinking about why we enjoy art, how we feel when we make a piece of art, and how it felt to display our artworks. In class, and during a tour of the exhibition, the children engaged in a discussion led by Ms Ranguelova, centering around the use of materials, from pastels and paints to chalk, as well as different artistic techniques employed throughout the show, from painting still lives, to drawing and sketching and printmaking.

A colourful and collective success! We are of course grateful to all the parents who made time to come and show their support by visiting the show.
