Year 3’s Big Adventure
All news
On 8 and 9 June, Year 3 headed off on their very first residential, to Cuffley Outdoor Activity Centre. This was an exciting milestone and a wonderful opportunity to build independence, confidence and friendships away from school. For some, it was their first time staying overnight with friends, making it a truly memorable experience.
Over the two days, the children threw themselves into a wide range of activities, from outdoor challenges to teamwork tasks, as well as enjoying time together in their pods and around the campfire. There was a real sense of enthusiasm and adventure from the moment they arrived.
Year 3 have shared some of their highlights below, in their own words:
Last week, Year 3 went to Cuffely! When we arrived we found our who our dorm mates were. We enjoyed spending time in our pods with our friends. Lots of people played in their pods when we had some free time.
We had sandwiches for lunch, they were delicious! Everyone in Y3 loved the food, we got to eat chicken sausages, croissants and fun cereal! It was yummy! We enjoyed our construction session the most. We got to build buggies in groups. We then even got a go riding on them.
In the evening, we had a campfire and roasted smores! They were DELICIOUS! On the residential, our bedtime was 9pm! The dorms were really cute and comfortable, unfortunately we didn't really get enough sleep!
We all had fun because we got to spend time together!
Overall:
The residential was Fun with a capital F!!
Wow! What an amazing few days you had! We hope you had a restful rest of the week to make up for lack of sleep!
