Year 4 get started on their second half term of learning

Year 4 have had a fantastic start to the new half term.

Year 4 have had a fantastic start to the new half term. The children have begun a new class book, “The Last Wild” by Piers Torday and are starting to write Haiku poems based on animals in the text. The beginning of a new Maths unit features Perimeter and Area, and we had a lot of fun using string to measure the curved perimeters of leaves. Other activities thus far have included a football fixtures, learning about the Ancient Greeks in Humanities, with much excitement for our Ancient Greek Day coming up on 28th November.

"We went to Regents Park to play a fixture against North Bridge House. We're all smiling in our photo because we won our match by one goal!" 

"It is good to do fixtures because it reminds us how important it is to work in a team. Also, it was great to be in a team with people from the other Year 4 classes." 

"I was the goalie and I saved all the other team's shots on goal. I was proud that I helped my team win 1-nil." 

"In Humanities we learned about the Ancient Greek Olympic Games. I really enjoyed the mini class Olympics we did at the end of the lesson, especially because I won my event - the paper plate discuss."

“This week were learning about Haikus and I enjoyed spotting patterns and rewriting the Haikus to improve them.” 

“In Maths we were learning about perimeter and I really enjoyed using the string to workout the perimeter.”
