Autumn Term Year 5 Breakfast Concerts
All news
Both 5J and 5S performed in their breakfast concerts last week.
From 5J, a total of 21 different pupils played, showcasing their learning in their one-to-one lessons and all their hard work. The audience enjoyed pieces from pianists, wind players, string players and a brass player. It was a joy to listen to a traditional Maori tune, classical pieces spanning the Baroque, Classical Romantic and Modern periods, as well as some pop tunes from Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. It was a wonderful way to start the day .
The 5S breakfast concert involved pianists, drummers, cellists and wind players. The programme had several romantic pieces, mixed with uplifting folk, modern and jazz tunes. The audience were delighted by pieces inspired by cheeky chimpanzees, a beautiful evening, spirited dances and the calming effect of nature.
A big thank you to all the pupils, not forgetting the parents and teachers for their support. Bravo to them all!
The children said:
"The Breakfast concert was a whirl of emotions, nerves and - most importantly - excitement!"
"On Thursday 11th November, 5S gave their breakfast concert to their parents and the other two classes, The concert began with Ilan on the piano and ended with Sophie-Mae on the drums. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it."
"During the breakfast concert I felt very nervous when I was playing, but afterwards I felt pretty good!"
