Shakespeares Globe Y5

On Wednesday 17 May, Year 5 visited Shakespeare's Globe where they learnt more about the Elizabethan period.

The day began with a refreshing walk to The Globe in the sunshine. The children then had a tour of the theatre - a replica of the Elizabethan playhouse for which William Shakespeare wrote his plays. One year 5 pupil said: "It was really cool and I enjoyed seeing the stage, which was being prepared for a production of The Comedy of Errors."

Following the tour, the class took part in a brilliant theatre workshop based on A Midsummer Nights' Dream, run by one of the Globe's resident actors.
