Year 6 boys conclude the Autumn term with festivities

It has been a truly wonderful first term for our Year 6 boys.
Our final lessons of the term have seen the boys continue to work diligently whilst finishing our English topics on Sherlock Holmes and Victorian London.
We have using coding to create our own virtual games in Computer Science, meanwhile in RPE, discussing the philosophical question as to whether we would prefer the ability to change the past or to predict the future.
Maths lessons have involved exploring the properties of 2D and 3D shapes, area and perimeter of parallelograms, compound shapes and triangles amongst other things.
We have really enjoyed concluding our science topics on Electricity by learning how to use ammeters and voltmeters and making paper circuit cards with LEDs.
We have spent time celebrating our incredible achievements this term, including the Year 5 & 6 Winter Concert at the CLS Great Hall.
Festive activities involved making Christmas cards, ahead of the Winter holidays.

Gray’s Inn Singers have been crowned UK champions at Barnardo’s National Choir Competition as well as winning at The Watford Festival 2026
The Gray’s Inn Singers from City Junior School have also won the Grand Prize for Musical Excellence at the Barnardo’s National Choir Competition. The choir performed at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Tuesday 3 March, having been selected as one of 16 outstanding finalists in the Junior Choir category. Their programme featured a captivating performance of Sakura, a traditional Japanese song arranged by Michael Neaum, followed by Larysa Kuzmenko’s dramatic and evocative Winds, which portrays the gathering intensity of a storm.
