Year 6 Trip to the London Transport Museum
All news
Year 6 enjoyed an engaging and informative trip to the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden, where they took part in the Junior Citizenship Scheme (JCS).
Throughout the day, pupils learned valuable skills and information to help keep themselves and others safe while travelling around London. They took part in a variety of workshops covering topics including fire safety, first aid, knife crime awareness and different careers.
The children particularly enjoyed learning practical first-aid skills, including how to put someone into the recovery position, as well as discovering some surprising facts about fire safety and the dangers of smoking. They were fascinated to learn that a single cigarette contains around 4,000 chemicals.
It was a wonderful opportunity for Year 6 to learn from a range of different professionals and explore important aspects of citizenship and personal safety in a fun and memorable setting. Despite the rainy weather, the children thoroughly enjoyed the walk to and from the museum and returned to school having learned a great deal.
A huge thank you to all of the parent volunteers who helped make this fantastic trip possible!
